Athena (2008)

The journey starts from the Archaic Period, from the Agora of Athens that was destroyed by the Persian Wars. With the help of the goddess Athena, which rises from a rock, the spectators are transported into the Classical Period and see the buildings that have been erected in the Agora. Using the remote control, with which every seat is equipped, the spectators participate in the creation of the Poikile Stoa. Then, they follow the Panathenaea procession and take part in the vote of ostracism of 416 BC. In the Hellenistic Period they watch the construction of the Attalos Stoa. The visitors return to the present day, to the diachronic values and the ideals that were born in the Ancient Agora and are part of our world heritage.

CREATE - The Asklepieion of Ancient Messene (2005)

CREATE (Constructivist Mixed Reality for Design, Education and Cultural Heritage), co-financed by the European Union (IST-2001-34231), aims at developing Virtual Reality technologies that will combine 3D photorealistic representations of real sites with advanced interactive capabilities.

Take part in an experience where you learn how to reconstruct part of an ancient temple. Virtually "build" parts of it, beginning with a photo-realistic model of the site as it is today and adding elements, piece by piece, in order to explore, make judgements, examine alternative scenarios or experiment with different possibilities and complete the final reconstruction.

The selected site is the ancient city of Messene, where we focus on the architectural complex of the Asklepieion, and in particular on the Doric temple which is located in its very center. The Doric temple represents one of the latest examples of the order and is poorly preserved but very well documented. The ongoing excavations, carried out by the subcontractor, provide us with supplementary documentation that is currently being studied for the scenario design.

M-PIRO - Multilingual Personalized Information Objects (2003)

The M-PIRO project attempts to combine innovative research in the production of natural language and voice composition with the technologies of multimedia databases, information management and virtual reality, which are developed to facilitate access to museum exhibits and information. Specifically, M-PIRO introduces the notion of personalized information objects. These objects correspond to the visitor's demands for information, taking under consideration what the visitor already knows and what other relevant information is available.

Stories from Archimedes (2002)

Through interactive virtual experiments, visitors of all ages can understand some of the most famous of Archimedes' inventions, such as the method for the measurement of the sphere volume, the hydrostatics' principle (our well-known EUREKA!), the invention of the water screw (a device used for lifting water for irrigation and drainage purposes), and the stories about the burning mirrors and the Iron Hand or Claw, both used to destroy roman ships.
